Introduced my daughter to the Clue movie this evening as it's in theaters for its 40th anniversary. Remains one of my favorites. She really loved it too.

If they ever made a Clue 2, have Neil Patrick Harris as the Butler. Bring @janewiedlin.bsky.social back as Mrs. White or Miss Scarlett. Bring back as many of the supporting actors/actresses as you can (who all died in Clue) as the new main characters.
I miss Madeline Kahn
Yes. And Lesley Ann Warren. So underrated.
So much. Died way too young, and way too horribly.
Your daughter is excellent.
Tim Curry is brilliant in that.

“I’m going to go home and sleep with my wife!”
In my top 10. Absolutely.
Recentlyish saw for the first time. Twas excellent.
I can recite most of this movie from memory. my sister and I had it on VHS back when having 5 VHS tapes seemed luxurious
"This is war, Peacock! Casualties are inevitable. You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs! Every cook will tell you that!" "But look what happened to the cook!"
Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?!?
You don't need any help from me, Sir.
a plant? i thought men like you were usually called a fruit
"Very funny... I'm gonna go home and sleep with my wife!" - Mr Green
Mr. Green: So it was you. I was going to expose you. Wadsworth: I know. So I choose to expose myself. Colonel Mustard: Please, there are ladies present!
"It's you and me, honey bunch!"
Played the game growing up often. Never saw the movie.
I recommend giving it a try!
I hope she's quoting "FLAMES, ON THE SIDE OF MY HEAD!"
Tim Curry is so sexy
A Damn Who's Who of Comedic TALENT, Mike McKeon, Lesley Ann, The Breathtakingly Beautiful Eileen Brennan, and Tim!! ALL AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME!! Thank You for Reminding me to Add THIS to my Holiday Watch Schedule!!!
I love this movie. And I’m also psyched to direct the stage play soon in my town.
Fantastic! Hope it goes well.
I have the DVD, along with High Spirits and So I Married An Axe Murderer. Brilliantly funny films.
Communism was just a red herring..
Are they doing random distribution of A, B, and C endings to cinemas again?
It's not random as they tell you which ending. At least at the theater I frequent.
Looks very Rocky Horror ish.
❤️❤️ 40 years... Man, I feel OLD. 🤣
that's always been one of my favorite films. it's so good.
Out of over 15K that I have seen, Clue is in the top twenty of my fave films of all time. =) www.flickchart.com/ZachsMind/mo...
"What do you do?" "I buttle." Greatest line in the movie and it's a fantastic movie all around.
Love that movie
How I learned what communism and red herrings were ❤️
How many husbands have you had? Mine, or other women's?
Rocky Horror is 50 this year.
Dude-is that the guy from Rocky Horror Picture Show?
It is indeed the brilliant Tim Curry.
Clue has one of my favorite bits of dialog! "Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?" "You don't need any help from me, sir."
when someone ask my fav movie and I answer this I get a weird look or a “really?” then I ask… have you seen it? “no” and then before you know it I’m forcing someone to watch Clue at 3am…. every. damn. time.
She had to go go.
Incredible movie. Endlessly quotable. I watch it a least once a year.
I showed it to my daughter a few years ago and she still loves it (she's 13). Whenever we have a free weekend, she asks if we can watch (and we do). I even got her a short for Christmas that says "1+1+2+1" and she wears it all the time❤️
Are they showing all endings or choosing one per show (would prefer the latter).
It was a different ending each night.
“I buttle…”
McKean was SO young!
My kids adore this movie.
I am a single girl, hot, ddf looking for you. I live alone in my home. You can come to my house or anywhere you like.I'm enjoy the s*x all the time. So, If you're interested. if you have oneplease contact my personal profile > sexforfuns.com/n1tfsgrB?aid...
One of my favorites too. Clue, Blazing Saddles, Princess Bride are my go-to’s when the real world gets to be too much
My, now adult, kids loved that one, too. Dang, I'm feeling old! 40th anniversary?!
One of Tim Curry’s best things, honestly (and he’s done a LOT of great things). Fun.
Watch him in Muppet Treasure Island! It's fantastic.
I really think the scene near the end where he runs around chaotically explaining everything may be the best work of his distinguished career.
#1: Clue #2:
My absolute favorite movie! I love Tim Curry and Madeline Kahn.
GREAT movie!!!!
Those facial expressions in this clip alone! Both scary and funny at the same time.
Such fun :P Referenced it recently! Don't think anyone else had seen it so a Link was shared :)
The whole thing is so darn delightfully camp. Tim didn't need a bodice, fishnets and heels to still be, WELL. Everyone knew (the ladies are having the best fun too! People forget (terfs and some radfems can go away, joyless horrors) many wāhine love high camp too, hehehehe)). Etc. * happy snort *
If she likes Clue, show her Murder by Death, similar cast and very funny and silly.
“I am your singing telegram”
I quote this movie to this day. Especially, “flames on the side of my face”
The absolutely best lines! 😂😂😂
Tim Curry’s smile is a masterclass in mischief. He knows the punchline, the ending, the secrets of the universe, and he savors it while you wait impatiently.
With antici…
Leslie Ann Waren. She was spectacular in Victor/Victory, The Limey, and especially here.
LOVED her in Victor/Victoria!
Colleen Camp! Only because I wasn't allowed to go to summer camp.
“I am your singing telegram” 🔫💥 gets me every time 😂
Just you and me, honeybunch.
I… am… your singing telegram! BOOM!!! Thump
Let us in! Let us in! Let us out! Let us out!
I took my kids to see it on stage this year. It's amazing.
1987 Big Sur Ca, local Deli. I don’t seek celebrity encounters so was trying to avoid Rosanna Arquette but didn’t notice her friend until I turned a corner and ran into a very tall woman so abruptly I actually bounced off her. Looked up and found Lesley Ann Warren staring down at me. I ran away.
Prime parenting. 💙
This just unlocked a core memory for me 😁
Parenting done right! 👍
It is one of my and my family's favorites.
Thanks for the prompt... Watching it now for the first time!
Who's the babe in the low cut dress Nice
This is my "home with the flu" go-to movie. Coincidentally, "Better Off Dead" also turned 40 a few days ago. Man, I'm old. We took our granddaughter to see the Toronto stage show this year. Wow. It was like seeing the movie for the first time again. To see the look on her face? Priceless.
Presumably now showing all three endings (“But here’s what REALLY happened…”) which fans say Paramount should have done forty years ago, instead of trying to sell its brand identification with “interactive” games.
We only had one ending in theaters, but I loved seeing all three together on the other versions over the years.
I remember getting stuck with the Miss Scarlett ending, taking a friend to see “Ending A”, and getting the Mrs. Peacock ending. 😕
We went specifically to see ending C
I saw it for the first time as an adult and had a great time. This movie is my sense of humor
youtu.be/qBlOYRjKcnw?...
Wait, it’s back in theatres? I need to see this in the theatre.
How do the do the trick ending? Or is it just the one?
They listed which ending was showing which night.
One of the films that I turn to regularly for cheering up and almost uncontrollable laughter. Not a weak performance in the cast and, of course, the multiple endings are the icing on this luscious cake!
I’m waiting for this to be rebooted. Not necessarily because I want it, but because it feels weird Hollywood hasn’t, it’s desperate for ideas
One cannot improve on perfection.
It's so good. One of the most quotable movies of all time.
I had the pleasure of directing the play at the high school I work at. What a delight!
This is such a great high school play idea!!!!!
The stage version is written by Sandy Rustin, adapted from the movie. She is fantastic! My cast had a virtual meeting with her and she was wonderful with my students.
Dinner wasn't that bad...
When theyre all running at the end for the different possibilities. I was crying 🤣
Love Tim Curry. So talented and unique.
Great movie! Great Cast! This is one I don't want to see them re-make.
"I hated her, so much... it-it- the f - it -flam - flames. Flames, on the side of my face, breathing-breathl- heaving breaths. Heaving breaths... Heathing..." Madeline Khan is so damn iconic in this movie!
Fun Tim Curry fact: One of the endings that ended up on the cutting room floor for Clue was "Tim Curry's character kills everyone else." Not a joke.
I heard about this, and I am forever disappointed we can't see it.
They should release the alternate ending!
Tim Curry is a gift to the world.
IM GONNA GO HOME AND.... Honestly just sleep...
Show her "Murder by Death".
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Cow on wall talking…
🎶 I. Am. Your singing telegram 💥
One plus one plus *two* plus one …
Foreshadowing AI there
I got to play Mr. Green in the stage version in ABQ a couple years ago. It followed the movie pretty closely. It was so much fun!
I hope it was the version with all 3 ending
I was a little disappointed it wasn't since that's the one I grew up on.
Which ending?!
3
I didnt even know this existed. My parents really failed me hey.
Tim Curry what a face 🤗
Curry and Kahn. You cannot reach a higher level of gloriousness. SO much fun. (also, Flames! Flames on the side of my face! Breaths! Heaving breaths!!!)
I have that on DVD, now I'm going to watch it when I go to bed. Thanks for the reminder. One of my favorites too!
Would anyone care for fruit or… dessert?
The title still irritates me should have been Cludo🇬🇧👍
Absolutely! One of my favorite movies/shows/such with Tim Curry in it.
And another good one similar Murder by Death
This has been one of my favorite comedies since I was in elementary school, and now that I’m 42… it’s #1
Which ending did you get
Ending 3
That's my fave. Honestly the movie doesn't feel complete if I don't see all three back to back lol
Clue is such a masterpiece. There is, tragically, some lost footage, too bad, but what can you do?
Rocky Horror Picture show, - same artists? sorta? those faces in your gif look familiar. haha. idk, i have not looked anything up. haha.
Saw ending B as my very first date lol
I showed my son this fantastic film and he did not love it as much as I did. I am glad you had a better outcome.
That's always a bit of a bummer.
So funny
What a great experience for you both! To this day I remember my mom renting the VHS for Clue and all of us watching it together. There are parts I still remember laughing over until my lungs hurt. It's a great memory that will be with me as long as I am me. I think it will be the same for her.
Such a wonderful memory.
Love that! Madeline Kahn was my favorite, although everyone was brilliant.
I will stop dead in my tracks and watch whenever I see this movie playing.
Good parenting.
You would have to be a sociopath to note love the movie
Flaaaames shooting out of my.... Flaaaaames
It's a good movie, and it had so many great stars in it.
Heck yeah. It's one of my wife's favorites, so we went tonight at our local theater.
Outstanding movie
"Don't worry I'll be right behind you" "That's why I'm nervous" 😁
One of my favorite movies as well! Endlessly quotable! “Are you trying to make me look stupid in front of the other guests?” “You don’t need any help from me, sir.” “That’s right!”
Hello! I’m your singing telegram! 💥
The narrative and comedic impact she had in this scene, with five words of dialogue lasting less than four seconds, makes this the single most efficient use of screen time any actor has ever achieved.
I have had that stuck in my head for the past three days. I don't know what conjured it, but it's just on loop. I'm not even mad, though, 'cause 'Clue' is such a damn good movie.
You shot the Go-Go’s!
securevisual28.blogspot.com?m=0
Oh, Tim Curry, you will always be Frankenfurter to me. 😂
Love it, have to watch it again now!
Also love "Murder By Death". Similar and fab cast.Great one-liners.
Yes! Both are great movies. It's fun to watch them as a "double feature"
youtu.be/XBSsc2qHP_g?...
I wonder how many shots that took to get it right..? Did the candlestick have her own agent? Stunt Stick!
if a remake happens we need like 50% more alternate endings
My wife loves this movie. Got the 4k disc of it and it was a fun watch as I think it's been close to 20 years since I'd seen it last. It's a bit shouty for my taste but it's definitely silly. No one is serious and the comic talent is top notch.
All right, I’m shouting! I’m shouting, I’m shouting!
read this too fast, i was thinking "that shot isn't in Clueless and wow 40 years ago--"
Our family had it memorized by 1995 😁
The casting was impeccable!! So well done! Glad your girl enjoyed it!
i love this movie. had no idea screenings in theaters all had different endings so you never saw them all before it was on tv
Can't wait for it to be released near me to watch again
When Clue was first released, the local theater showed a different ending each week. We went to see them all!
Out of the 5 of us that went, only 2 of us had seen the movie. I'm glad we fixed that.
Great film.
My kids were in their High School stage production of Clue last fall & it was so fun to watch it with them. Classic.
The ONLY improvised part of the movie.
And one of my favorite parts! 😂😂
My favorite drag queen cuts this into "Bad Girls" by Donna Summer, with other icons like Debbie Jelinsky from the Addam's family. It's fantastic.
Any other stale expired larger-than-life female pop-culture imagery he wants to stick in there? Or, like most of the gay audience, does he like it because Mrs. Peacock, Miss Scarlett and Yvette are in it? 🙄
I think Judge Judy is in there. It's great.
Excuse me, I fell down at 40th and can't get up. How did this time fly?
I have never watched it, I really like the people in it just never saw it. I have something new to watch!
I hope you enjoy it at least as much as I do!
When I was a child, whenever my parents had to ground me, my punishment was NOT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE.
I was happy to see the amount of people in their 20s and younger in the theater
"And monkey's brains, though popular in Cantonese cuisine, are not often to be found in Washington D.C."
The greatest game-to-movie adaptation of all time.
Tim Curry chews on every single scene, and it is delightful
