oooooh!
oooooh!
No way!!! In full daylight? What a treat
I think it’s a Big Brown Bat and I do see them foraging in daylight sometimes. I understand they enjoy mosquitos and we currently have a *bumper crop* of those
Well I’m glad you’ve got somebody helping out with the mosquito situation. That’s so cool to see them during the day.
I have donated quite a bit of blood to the local skeeters this week and am actively recruiting a bat entourage
You rang?
Oh wow, that’s amazing! Fantastic shot Janet, how cool to see!
Thanks! I was just so happy to get it in frame. It was SO FAST and flippity-flippity-flippity all over the place and of course I was not ready for BAT in general 😆
🤣 bats have got to be the most difficult thing to keep in the frame. Their flight is so crazy! Just a fantastic image!
Thanks! Many frames were taken… most were… less successful
🤣 I’d say one is a major victory!
I’ll take it
💯
Wow, that's wonderful!! 👏🦇
Such a rare shot, a bat in the sunlight.
Great capture! Bats can be difficult to photograph. Great you saw one in daylight! The bugs must be good right now.
The bugs are very “good” (if you’re a bat or any other insectivore). It’s mosquitopalooza!
💯
🥰
Wow! In the daylight! What a capture!💯
🤠🦇
aw why it is flying at the daylight
Some bat species are not averse to foraging in the daytime. There are LOADS of mosquitos to eat around here
everyday you learn something new! somehow his lighter wings as well.
BAP doin a lil FLAP ❤️
@thejessness.bsky.social
Well that's a surprise and a lovely capture. 😊
Thanks! I was totally surprised. Took a minute to figure out what the heck that was
SKY PUPPY!
They’re so cute. Big Brown Bat, I think - our most common bat here
A little brown bat doing daytime feeding..
Wow!
Oh, how VERY cool!!! I love bats, & this is really neat, especially in the daytime....great eye & capture, Janet! 🤎
Thanks. It was so fast, I can’t believe I got it in frame
No kidding!! I hate when I see something flying by, & by the time I finally get it in sight & focused, it's gone lol Happens way too often. The iPhone is pretty good at capturing such things quickly, but not the greatest for zoom pics. I do prefer my camera for that, but there again, the focus delay
Beautiful photo. Just wow.
Yay!!! 🦇 I still don’t see as many bats as I used to see. So, it is more special when I now get a glimpse.
Oh, nice!!!! Wow!
It was quite a surprise. It was circling round and round over the marsh pond, no doubt enjoying the many many many mosquitos
Yeah, you've never really experienced mosquitos until you experience many many many mosquitos. Go bats!
Nice capture!
It flies, so clearly it is a bird! Nice picture.
I’ve never seen one in full daylight, cool shot!!
Thanks! I don’t see them often but sometimes, especially around marshes
Wow! What a find!
Don’t see them out in the daytime much, but sometimes. I suspect it’s enjoying our mosquito population explosion!
So in the daylight, this bat decided to be pink instead of goth black!
What an amazing moment to catch. Gorgeous photo of a gorgeous animal.
Oh wow....and why does it have such pale pale wings?
Lit up by the sun behind. They are so translucent
Was it smoking and screeching "I'm melting!!!"
Too busy enjoying the bumper crop of mosquitos we have currently
Woah!
That’s what I said 😂
🤣🤣
They’re so fast! When they’re caught in a still like this my brain goes “how did that Chihuahua get airborne?!!”
😂
I'm shocked you caught it on your camera when it didn't fly like a bird!
Godspeed to Battholomew. T. Bughunter, Esq. 😍
Nice catch!!
😍 Great shot, and a surprising one. (When I visited the botanical gardens in Sydney years ago with my sister, she busied herself with photographing, well, the botanicals—but I was captivated by a colony of grey-headed flying foxes. Could hardly believe that I caught a short video of one in flight.)
Flying foxes are so cool! Would love to see them
I hope to get back to Australia sometime. There's at least one bat-care facility that takes volunteers. ... Here are a couple of photos from the garden, if I may offer pix in return:
First time I knowingly saw a Leisler's bat I had this thought process. I mistook it for a snipe.
WHOA!!😳 Very nice!!🦇
Stay away, far away, from bats in the daylight (although they’re so cute)
🤣
Perfect for #batnight, which is celebrated here tonight.
Nice capture Janet
