If an AI strike-zone bot were to plagiarize existing umps there would be a big problem. But more likely a robot can give an authoritative call that can't be complained about, and is immune to the deceit of "framing."

Baseball is exciting enough without the randomness of personal strike zones or the catchers' skill in deceiving the umps. If you want the umpires to be a part of the show, there's always the Savannah Bananas.
