There's clear logic to their belief system. They view 2a as their (racist) protection against minorities and sending troops into cities jibe with that ideology.

Thing is, conservatism is a belief in hierarchy. The conservatives among us do not lust for any power, they are just bootlickers who like to power bottom for their masters, their lust is to be dominated. They hate us for our freedoms and our refusal to be subjugated
