This is where the "patriarchy hurts everyone" line gets us - men shallowly & entirely self-servingly engaging with feminism to frame themselves as the true, ground zero victims of patriarchy & their abuse of women the understandable result of their "oppression" they created, enforce, & protect.

It feels like he heard that line and grabbed onto it with both arms then refused to learn a single thing about feminism. This is day 1 of 101 shit. This is the "get their attention" line. You can't hear just that and think you're ready to debate with people who have spent years studying. Weirdo.
I've yet to encounter a man embracing that narrative who isn't using it as a weapon to appropriate feminism to serve him. It's why I no longer accept that framing. Maybe one day we can explore that but as long as men continue to fight for privilege, I'll focus on women's liberation.
As we should. I've seen some people who only seemed to take notice when they heard an acknowledgement that feminism doesn't claim their lives are great just because it suggests they have privileges women don't have. But that doesn't mean feminism should centre men, it certainly shouldn't.
And yet somehow they understand when we say heterosexuality is privileged & centered as the default it doesn't mean heterosexual people have no difficulties. Their ignorance is willful & weaponized.
Yes, leading men into actually caring about women's issues is tedious and rarely works unfortunately.
The sad bit is he thinks being pressured into demonstrating dominance by committing violence is somehow still a sign of strength, even if he was weakly bullied into, poor him. And no. It's a sign to bullies that you're a weak little follower, and a sign to women to avoid completely.
