But while I agree with those sentiments, most people, especially the large silent majority in the middle, would feel that those ideas are too far to the left to make the jump. Let's face it: committed Dems are going to vote Dem anyway. What's needed is to convince the majority in the middle ground

right and the middle, to vote for, say, Bernie, or AOC. Doesn't matter that what they say is great common sense. It's the PERCEPTION that they're too far left that will stop the middle masses & those on the right from voting Dem. No amount of echo-chambering in here will convince them.

What is needed to get rid of Trump is to convince a majority of the masses in the middle to vote Dem next couple of times around. That will NOT be achieved by telling them that they're idiots, that they have no empathy for their fellow humans etc. Dems need to play nicer & not preach to them.

Or capitulation to republicans loses elections and progressives candidates are populist. Look at Mamdani. The people want opposition not republicans lite democrats.
