It seems that the Ukrainian parliament is working on another stupid new law - mandatory 5-10 years in prison for disobeying orders. As this article IMO very well explains, it would likely just made things even worse. censor.net/en/resonance...

Mandatory prison terms are never a good idea and deprives the judiciary of it's independence. The only exception might be if the judiciary is highly corrupt, but even then, there are better solutions than mandatory prison sentences.

Mandatory sentences are simply a bad thing, anywhere for anything.

No it is not the entire Rada working on this, the bill's authors are Maksym Pavliuk, Serhii Ionushas, Vladlen Nekliudov of the People's party and the bill hasn't even had a reading, it was proposed by only 20 commanders and it's clear from the article that neither the AFU nor anyone else supports it

Seems like 2nd reading vote has been "delayed" and won't be happening today, law might even be changed.
