I didn't know we had a choice! The latest upgrade changed some of my icons to different colors and I can't find things now. I seem to be in perpetual night mode, and can't read my drag down notifications. I need a kid to help me fix it! (When I retired from teaching I lost my tech squad)

The problem is they eventually stop supporting your model and no longer give security updates and such, forcing you to risk your personal information or invest in something at least moderately newer..

Bought a laptop 7 years ago that was ‘Win 11 ready’. Win 11 comes out and my laptop is deemed incompatible. WTAF? Typical MSFT bait-and-switch. September project: install Qubes OS on it and give the 🖕🏼 to Big Tech.

Approximately 410,000 phones are thrown away in the USA… Every. Single. Day! They’re made of highly toxic materials and we should all be trying to break the consumer cycle of UPGRADE UPGRADE UPGRADE!!!

I’ve always been that age 😂 Last fall I was “forced” to upgrade my iPhone 5 as there were no updates for years and the apps would no longer work.

Wow, you held out that long? Apps started to stop working on my 5 in 2020, and then my phone pretty much self destructed anyway so I had to upgrade to an SE 2020. Now, after 5 1/4 years the battery is down to 71% and the Home button stopped working. Guess it’s time to upgrade again!

I used it when travelling so WhatsApp was the last app I truly needed. Then they said nope, it’s done for this phone. I avoided other apps when they quit working and just went direct to the websites.

I’ve always been at that age. These things don’t fascinate or interest me at all.

I've had the phone I have now for who knows how long 4,5,6 years, the only reason I have, it, is because my carrier told me the one I had wouldn't work on their system any more. This one is my all time favorite. I could be 30 miles from a cell tower and that damn thing would connect solid as a rock!

I refuse to give up my home button phone!! Trying to use hubby swipe one drives me insane

The home button on my SE 2020 recently died and I had to enable the on-screen virtual home button. Hard to undo so many years of muscle memory though. Until I had to start using the screen version I didn’t realise how often I pressed home, or how natural an actual button felt.

Very true I recently had to start using the accessible button too and not quite used to it yet. I keep losing it in the open app :-/ . I still keep going for the actual home button too. I might have to resort to a stylus next because of arthritis. Still not ready to give this one up though lol

I tried that - “they” made all the apps unsupport my phone. 1 by 1. That’s not by any democratic design btw.
