It’s become clear that most Americans already implicitly believed that’s how the presidency worked — they don’t know or care what the president is and isn’t allowed to do, he’s the president, he’s supposed to be powerful and do stuff

I think if Trump actually tried to run for a third term a lot of people who didn’t give a shit about various illegal strongman things he did will go “hey wait, you’re not supposed to do *that!*” but I think at this point odds are he’ll be dead before then anyway
