The Pentagon is reportedly planning to send troops to Chicago. How will Americans respond to military occupation of their cities? I’m not much a fan of the second amendment, but my impression is that it was written with this scenario in mind.

Nonviolent direct action is the only option. Let them take over cities unopposed, and they'll be preventing voters from voting in midterms. Oppose their lethal force with lethal force, they can escalate and bomb buildings, and prevent voting.

If they go to Chicago, I believe thousands and thousands of protesters will show up. If they send troops from the South, this isn't LA; they won't want to be outside during the Chicago winter. Trump's health is deteriorating, so it will be interesting to see how soon this plays out if at all.

Time to take advantage of this. Cities are having budget troubles due to police costs. Let the guardsmen police the streets. Then the cities can cut police overtime, supplying cops outside Wrigley Field/soldiers field, etc..time to turn the tables and let trump pay the policing costs.

Most US wars have not made it unsafe to campaign or vote. Britain still appended elections during WW II because it wasn’t safe. Suspending elections e.g. during Vietnam wouldn’t have been justifiable for a reason like that.
