I’ve tried to sign up to Libby but I think San Diego has two library systems and my local one is the wrong one - should keep trying!
I also support a friend’s bookstore with Lindo.fm, but just with one credit a month
Libro.fm, rather
How have the tomes been treating you?
You toming?
Not just now - started the VSIs to prep for a course I’m teaching in the fall and sort of just kept going. What I need to do now is finish the course prep…hard to do while watching the little one all day!
Very Short Attention Spans!
My two year old agrees
Longest thing I’ve been reading in print is Coetzee’s Provincial Life trilogy but I’ve been on that forever (need to pick up at book 3).
Also Kautilya but I’ve just been browsing that.
I forgot to include all thirty books my two-year old makes me read to them every night during the bedtime fillibuster ritual
Ha yes I don’t include those - but we are finally getting to some real books: Narnia and “Alice in Underland”.
_Genji_ was kind of a slog bsky.app/profile/aohs...
Spent a lot of time on the computer looking at kinship charts, maps, and reception history. And tweetin' about the experience. bsky.app/profile/aohs...
_Stalingrad_ is good so far, I've already spent a lot of time with these characters from _Life and Fate_, the second and better-known half of the double tome, so it's interesting to read about their past lives. bsky.app/profile/aohs...
I'm trying to get as much out of Libby as I can before it's gutted. I think it's slated to be a Big, Beautiful Bill casualty.
Tome-wise, I wrapped up _Tale of the Genji_ (Tyler trans.) and embarking on Grossman's _Stalingrad_. Next audiobook is Budi Darma's _People from Bloomington_ bsky.app/profile/aohs...
