100%. I'm sure they feel like they dominated Mehdi. Facts don't matter to them.

Also frankly they’re not smart enough to know they’ve been owned. Dunning-Kruger.
Did you not watch the end? They literally have reflections from participants. They know they didn't do well, they just won't take responsibility for it
Yeah, that's why I think maybe you can move the needle *a little bit*. They're unlikely to change their mind on anything. But perhaps it'll make *someone* somewhere think a little differently or start to question their assumptions a little bit. Got start somewhere. There will be no miracles.
100% - you chip away, no one is going to come away from that & think "yes he's right, I'm wrong" But the certitude gets dented & overtime that can help change people's views
I watched it all...they are all young, fresh whippersnappers, at that know it all stage. Let them get a real job, try to raise some kids, then see how their views might change...
They are so steeped in RW propaganda. They see argument after argument confirming the same biases, internalize those arguments, and become so certain they’re right! When they finally hear counterarguments they don’t really have a rebuttal. So they just hammer away w/o really addressing the counter.
I think you're the naive one if you think life experience is going to cure them Some of these arguments are the same things people like JD Vance and Stephen Miller are floating
Not naive, just trying to look on the positive side. They are probably too far..gone
Yeah, I heard the language many of them were using. Most in the Gaza section were antisemites. There were plenty of Groypers. And Kai at the end was talking about making the world of Starship Troopers a reality.
That ain't stuff you can undo with a debate
Nostalgic for the days when Neo-Nazis were deemed unworthy of platforming or debating.
I'm now curious if anyone has tested deprogramming methods used for former hate group members on regular mainstream ideologies to see how effective it is on specific beliefs
Good point. How can we possibly make any progress bringing people out of a cult if we don't use known techniques that have shown to have some rate of success against such things?
