Via @rchapoco.bsky.social: Alabama’s state sales tax on groceries will fall from 3% to 2% on Monday under a law approved last spring. The law will not cut local levies on groceries but prevents cities and counties from raising them higher. Alabama is one of a handful of states that taxes groceries.

Seriously, they tax groceries? Not in Wisconsin. My meat, dairy, produce, etc. is tax free. Some junk food is taxed but it doesn't affect me since I rarely eat it.

It's disgusting to put taxes on life's necessities. Has any consideration been given to raising taxes on the rich? 🙄 Yeah, that's what I thought.
