A pastor once told me, err on the side of grace. I try to do the right thing, it doesn't always work but I defer to that quote from a good man.

“Everything is figureoutable” is mine
Mine isn’t original. It’s just things could be worse. I had no idea one day this would in fact no longer hold due to our govt.
My daughter, maybe 10 Mother's Days ago, gave me a Post-it that said, "You're my inspiration." I still have it up, because it's all I need to keep trying.
Endeavor to persevere
Believe actions, not words.
Mine has always been: This too shall pass.
Stop. Focus. Work the problem.
Ha! Not my kidney stone - lil' f#£#er had to be drilled out! Fun times!
Mmmm! I guess my mantra wouldn't fit that scenario, seriously ouchy!
I still haven't quite got the hang of BS- I was replying to a quote about kidney stones in this thread 😄

This will pass. Maybe like a kidney stone, but it will pass.

Deep at the center of my being is an infinite well of love, I allow this love to flow into my mental body, my emotional body, my casual body, my celestial body, etheric template.
Could be worse. Could be Monday.
I haven't had it posted in a while, but I think about it a lot [background: I have an enginerding degree]: I can't fix that, it's a load bearing problem.
I worked with a structural engineer who would just make up a reason something had to be done this way or why something couldn't be done that way.

Family mantra over here. Right beside the family motto of "we solve problems."
The Dori Philosophy has also served me well
A tree can thrive with only one root, even throughout the cold weather when its leaves fall from the pressure of the snow. It still holds out because its warmth comes from its core. Just a singular root. And when the sun shines once again, the cycle of new life starts. New connections are made. 🔂

I like to think about it this way. The good I put out into the world is my personal fight against the pain and cruelty. Everytime someone gets care, feels seen, is helped the balance tips toward hope and good. It is an act of malicious anticompliance! They cant make me add to suffering!

"That dream was put in your heart for a reason."
"Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax."
I've had this poster on my wall since college. It's the closest thing I have to a mantra. #Scriptsky
As long as you know where your towel is.
My go-to is: "Keep your eye everlastingly on the ball" from the Official Rules for Umpires, the rulebook for baseball. It's the first line, and is perfect.

'They're just words on a page. If you don't like them you can change them' - that's a paraphrase, but it's from an interview with Danny Strong that I sometimes go back to. And then there's this, which is kind of at the heart of why I left musicology many years ago (I don't claim consistency).

And… You are not your past mistakes.
I know a lot of people take comfort in this but it has been the one thing I cannot accept for myself.
Every day is a new day with a chance to make it better than yesterday.
Cosmo keeps a book of Dr Seuss on hand. The Sneetches is a fave, cos it's about corporate greed preying on prejudice, with the con man Sylvester McMonkey McBean the villain of the story. A con man cashing in on the differences between folks. Whimsical and simple enough for a child to understand.
Live your life in love.
When i was in HS if something went wrong my mom would say shit n 2 are 8, I'd respond no shit n 2 is 6 shit x 2 is 8. It became our thing :) I miss her so much 16 years later
This is excellent. Keep your energy for moving forward! Waste no time on regrets!

I like the Leonard Cohen quote 'Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in'.
A CEO I worked with had a little poster in his office. A frog headfirst in the beak of a crane had his little hands around the bird's throat. Caption said,'Never give up.'

I hear ya! 👍
Love this! Half-assed has been the only way I've gotten through some days.
For me, I end up saying "1% is greater than zero" a lot of days. Didn't get a page done but wrote on sentence? Still better than nothing! It's easy to get wrapped up in All Or Nothing thinking-- give yourself some grace, and remember that slow progress is still progress! 🐌

And its follow-up... "Why NOT?"
Hahahaha. I like that
“Just Keep Swimming… Just Keep Swimming… swimming swimming swimming…” in Ellen’s voice as Dory from Finding Nemo. Always makes Me smile and laugh. And kinda an inside joke with My bestie: “not problems.” For all those things people are freaking out on, tell you it’s a problem, but really… grow up.

It's either that scene from Holes or me telling myself to do things out of spite. Spite is a powerful tool. And also the idea that I need to do things before I can't. You never know when things suddenly change on you.
If they don’t like you, you don’t have to play with them. Given to me by my 5 year old daughter when I struggled with wanton corruption and misogyny at work.
Our high school French teacher was a wealth of weird inspirational quotes, but my fave to this day is still, “Fake it til you make it!”
Perseverance furthers.
I have a meme I saw hanging in my office: “On particularly rough days, I like to remind myself that my track record for getting through bad days so far is 100%, and that’s pretty good.” I have no idea who originally wrote it.
👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌
That's a great one!
not sure about positive it will be okay or you will be dead and won't care anyway
I have one of my cards on the cubicle wall. It is a mantra for every one of my days
Ooo, I like this one! Thanks for sharing 😊
I have a mantra that has worked in multiple situations, from a stinging insects buzzing my head to dealing with the occasional, incredible stupidity of others. I close my eyes, take a deep breath & calmly chant "Ooooh holy f*ck." Highly recommend.🙂
I feel it already working!
