I just did a quick read of Missouri's homeschool laws. It's not the Wild West. But also you don't have to register or notify the local system. (I would because it's an unnecessary truancy case waiting to happen.)

It's up to county prosecutors who don't touch these There was/is Mo law for voluntary homeschool affidavits filed w/ County Recorder of Deeds. Even that was too considered too intrusive. We would get two or three a year of these filings from hundreds of homeschoolers in STL City.
