Exactly, but in order to do that convincingly older generations (that means us as well) also have to believe we can make things better

I believe it’s possible for sure, just not through conventional political avenues at the moment. Which is why I’d never say I’m optimistic, because that implies that things are on their way to sorting themselves out without radical change or effort.

Particularly with climate change, I’ve always said that the message from the left should be that the measures against it won’t save what we have, they’ll make life better for everyone. That a left path is doable, we know the solutions, we don’t need tech fantasy.

I do think combatting climate change should be the coalescing strategy/message for the left. There’s a universal message there, even one of survival and it has a universalism/ opposition to fascism at its core.
