Youβll be glad u did it soon
Kind of envious. I can barely get corn to grow here and the summer was too cold for my winter squash to germinate soon enough to produce :((
Sunflowers are good to direct sow too. If you sprout them in starter pots the transplant the get stunted. Put a seed directly in soil and off they go. π Isnβt it wonderful growing food?
Oh I had several mammoth sunflowers this summer. The squirrels really enjoyed them lol
Yes they do! I grew several grey mammoth sunflowers one year, let the seeds mature then clipped off the heads and put them all in a cardboard box outside. Forgot about box until I noticed a squirrel sitting in it feasting away. π He was sooooo happy. π
May I ask what zone you are in? I don't think I could get away with planting corn right now but I will be planting a few of the items you listed after my current plants are done producing for a winter crop.
Iβm in 9b so we can just squeeze another round of corn before it gets cold
Nice! I'm 7b.
