Because it's okay acknowledge the unforced errors made by these companies and they shouldn't be given preferential treatment because of what they're based on. I'm more hot than cold on superhero movies and Superman and FF are major improvements compared to other superhero movies I could name.
And yet you have to acknowledge the environment in which movie making has gone through in the past 5 years. People tend to memory a hole the entire pandemic and that did have an effect on movies, especially large ensemble casts that require lots of VFX work.
And I understand that, but not every movie made under those conditions looks half as bad some of MCU movies made under those conditions. They don't get a free pass because of the pandemic.
