With hospitals and schools boards being put under provincial supervisors, we are going to see that while there are efficiencies to be had, these institutions have more of a revenue (funding) problem than they have an out of control spending problem

Any institution that is running a 40% deficit has probably run the course on "efficiencies." What they need is funding to do their job.
The word ‘efficiencies’ has been used to cover up an underfunding of hospitals that allows children to die. We should ask the provincial government to do their job and fund hospitals adequately to care for patients and keep them safe.
Retired fed public servant here; last ten years as an executive. Efficiency is just another word for do-more-for-less. The organization may achieve some measurable results over the short-term, but the inputs and activities will surely suffer under the burden of it all; especially, in human services.
Twenty five year cancer survivor here; nurses were under pressure, and under staffed back then. My son is a healthcare professional. He couldn't get full time work as an RPN when he graduated, so continued studies at the University. Worst job there is personally, imo. Thank God we have Heroes!
We should DEMAND the provincial government do their job.
