Conveniently, RFK Jr. has long imagined US medical authorities are a conspiratorial “cabal” and saw an opportunity for his own mad, vengeful ends in Trump running again. Trump is satisfying his own vengelust and rewarding a key political ally by empowering Kennedy’s institutional bonfire.
It helps that the rest of Trump’s inner circle has drawn up plans to politically disembowel not just the federal government, but universities, civil society, and writ large. They’ve convinced themselves this is all consonant with that plan. To an extent, it is.
