they don't bite? I would never kill a spider, because of my fear. We all deserve to live. But goddamn, why they gotta be so scary looking!

Surely if they felt threatened they would. But the venom isn't like that of the poisonous ones. Maybe a little discomfort, but not cause necrosis in your flesh.

LOL I think they're beautiful! Now the brown recluse and black widows look super scary to me, and I like spiders.

I think that has a lot to do with our natural need for risk assessment, and how sneaky those little guys can be just by being generally smol.

And the crazy part is, I have never been biten by a spider. I was stung by a bee 30+ years ago, and it did not really hurt. Still freaks me out when they fly in my car window. And spiders are just creepy little buggers!

True. The smaller the more they freaked me. Tarantulas, Wolf spiders, Huntsman, and these huge orb weavers don't freak me out at. I look at them the same way I look at a stray animal.

That's admirable. Wish everyone had that degree of transparency. Freaked me out too till a wise older woman taught me how to be calm and become one with them when you come into contact. I've had bees and wasps land on me but never sting. I'm afraid of being bitten by a poisonous spider, though.😬
