This is one of the reasons that "If something is worth doing, it's worth doing badly" is my motto.

Years ago, maybe on Making Light, @tkingfisher.com created a certificate for someone’s kid. As I remember, she identified herself as a professional award-winning artist and gave the recipient permission to make bad art, as much bad art as they needed to.
It was for @chenowolf.bsky.social, at my request. With some effort, I can probably find the link.
I thought it might have been but wasn’t sure. She provided it later too, perhaps on twitter.
Yes. It was never intended for just one person. When I’m back in my own country, rather than enjoying the marvels of Portugal, I can probably find where it’s parked on the interwebs.
You might have more luck finding it directly from somewhere Ursula posted it, since you'd know where to look, but there are reposts of it on Tumblr that I've found.
Right, snagging this for later use...
hah I saw the image before reading your text and thought "wait, that's Ursula's!" hahah
Btw the printed out version that I was given right after Ursula made it still lives on about 11 years later. It's survived many years above my desk as a teen, an international move, and most importantly, plenty of pretty bad art on the way to some fairly good art.
I think this is the one you mean? I saved it for inspiration some years ago:
Ursula Vernon!
Yes!
It’s an excellent motto!
I don't live up to it, but I try.
