Yet it is available to parents even if both parents earn £99,999 / year - each! The threshold for child benefit is £60k for either parent. What is the justification for the £40k difference?

With the Winter fuel allowance the gov set the threshold too low & with this one they have set it too high. Parents who together earn ~£200k/yr should not be getting this kind of handout given the issues faced by other areas of govt. Someone is giving @teamlabouruk.bsky.social bad advice.
