There comes a time in every JRPG player's life where they encounter a really hard boss and have to ask themselves the question... "Am I supposed to win this fight?"

I knew about chrono trigger multiple endings and I grinded WAY too much on my first playthrough thinking I was supposed to win some fights in the dark ages to get a better story path...
In retrospect, because CT was an earlier RPG for me, I think I would've done the exact same thing had i known of multiple endings before playing it. Loool that's brutal...
I realized I was deeply underleveled in Final Fantasy XII when I finally hit a boss that killed me so fast I assumed it was a scripted-loss fight. (It wasn’t.)
I feel this currently and deeply lmaooo. "Damn, boss has hands -> Oh I just have a punchable face" pipeline
Judging by your previous clip... I think I got walled by that boss at the end of my last stream haha. we'll come back stronger...!!!
I ambled over the wall barely so I know you got this! Which also means yippee i can watch your stream for at least a bit before spoiler zones !
I just had this in clair obscur. One boss that pasted me, clearly out of my league. Walked around it to find another boss that was much more beatable. So I spent an hour trying to get that first one before giving up
In theory everything in that game is beatable with enough parries, but not in a fun way.
Honestly, good lesson for me when I start playing the game because my ass would be doing the same!
I was worried when I'd started because the streams I'd seen had all been people trying to punch above their weight class so I thought the whole thing HAD to be parry or die.
Does ... does this just happen once? This happens several times in every JRPG for me lol Mostly it's because I'm underleveled
It's an "everybody gets one" circumstance, but not ONLY one. Some may keep drinking from the fountain.
I actually once spent all of my best stuff on one of those unwinnable fights. In frustration, I loaded the saved game and then lost
IMO It was a rude wake up call, so you're allowed to go back to bed and try again!
Which, thankfully in this case, was "Yes" and when I checked a guide to see if I missed something afterwards it turns out I was missing 5-7 recommended levels worth of EXP.
[yea, but have you have had the toxic masculinity take over and tell you "maybe you're missing 5-7 lvls of gittin gud" it happens to me sometimes]
