its a good thought, but the 2nd amendment and resulting jurisprudence is more or less unique. it means the US really can't just emulate most other laws without a major change to our constitution, which is really politically non-viable. i think the best chance is probably red-flag laws more than bans
Suffice to say that at this particular moment in history I'm not willing to concede that major constitutional change is impossible
