2010 Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United case opened the floodgates for corporate spending in US elections via super PACS and dark money groups which opened the path that led us to the mess that we’re in today. The Supreme Court could have prevented a lot of this with one decision alone.

It kind of reminded me of something Obama said once at a town hall. This voter was going on about some kind of injustice and Obama kind of bluntly said, "Okay, now make it viable for me politically." He wasn't being mean, he explained. He was just revealing the reality of politics. It's never pure.
