As both a save scummer and an aspiring streamer a LONG time ago, there was a distinct difference to me when streaming that felt like the point was just to let it fucking fly. I do live with some choices, but broadly speaking I play games like BG3 knowing I'll probably finish it once at most.
I'm a habitual quicksave/quickload kinda gamer myself, which is why I've never done a full honor mode run. I turn on all the other honor mode features, but leave off the single save thing.
Playing Dune: Awakening after so many years of BG3, Skyrim, Starfield, Fallout, etc., has been so challenging. "What do you mean I lose everything when a sandworm eats me?"
This is why I can't play BG3. I hate save scumming at the rate it would take to overcome my perpetual nat 1's. I once rolled a 1, used an inspiration point, rolled a 1, used another, 1, another 3, and then my last one for a 1. I quit playing the game after that. Haven't picked it back up.
Hashtag relatable.
I feel like it's particularly bad/necessary in crpgs, the bugs are omnipresent and NPC reactions/fight compositions are wildly unpredictable if you haven't played before.
