you don’t have to have great range to be a great actor if you’re good enough at a specific type of role see: Reeves, Keanu

“we need an insufferable asshole for this role, get me James Woods”
Boris Karloff loved being typecast because it was a tacit admission that he was the best in the world at the role he always played.
True for singing too; see: Dylan, Bob
I also just think it’s sincerity for specific actors. I don’t think it’s a hot take to say that Meryl Streep is Meryl in every movie. Same affectations, minimal tweaking for characters. But she is that character and the character is her. There are few actual actors who morph completely.
in-n-out is good, actually
As an East coaster, it is all meaningless to me.
It's good but not as good as the persistent lines/wait would indicate.
For my nearest one, I would say that's correct. I pretty much never go to it because it's so absurdly crowded.
That's most of them in my experience. I went to one near Pismo Beach that was only as crowded as a regular ultra crowded fast food place once. I'm sure there are chiller ones in other parts of CA.
If In-N-Out really wasn’t that good, we’d be seeing another chain be the comparison used. But no one claims a burger is better than Whataburger or Shake Shack. They always try to claim it’s better than In-N-Out.
playing sports is really good for most kids
the quality control on LEGO bricks is actually worth a price premium, decades old pieces still work just fine
I have really enjoyed buying some of the 18+ sets, they just fit so well as house decorations.
My little one is benefiting from all the Lego I had when I was a kid.
This is so FR. I bought a Not Lego interlocking brick set exactly once (bc it had a character Lego didn't have license for) and I never will again. None of the bricks stayed together, I am a full on Lego-snob now.
lifting heavy things is fun as hell
I like your opinions
Heavy things hurt my elbow.
nothing wrong with chicken nuggets for dinner every now and then
it may be slightly healthier to instead have chicken nuggets for dinner some now and thens
Breakfast for dinner is always an option. Pancakes, bacon and eggs, even cereal.
I'm gonna take both these bits of advice.
Actually, excuse me, I only took the first. Had a healthier early dinner.
you are allowed to say the word ‘fuck’ on the internet you wouldn’t think this one is controversial, and yet
And don’t come here with your ‘f**k’ and false sense of decorum. Either say fuck or don’t say it at all.
I can’t fucking believe it.
THE FUCK YOU SAY!
TV guy VJ Boyd grew up in a very Christian household and was home-schooled. He said he had never heard or seen the word fuck until he got on the Internet in high school or college. He thought it was just an internet word.
Fuck is such a versatile word. Why would you ever fucking stop saying "fuck?" I mean, "Fuck the fucking fucker" is a grammatically correct sentence using variation of that word almost exclusively.
absofuckinglutely
folding laundry is the worst chore
Correction, it’s the most watching TV chore
As an Age Care Facility Laundry Worker I fully agree. It is way worse when you have to do your own at home.
I'll scrub toilets before folding the laundry.
but would you wash the dishes as well?
Thankfully I now have a dishwasher, but as a former dish bitch I didn't mind doing the dishes too much.
Those two, along with _washing_ the laundry, are both things that I actively do more often than fold laundry 😖
I was about to go on a rant about folding when I realized you probably meant more generically 'folding, hanging up and putting away laundry' but I have in fact arranged my life so I have to fold as few things as possible. hanging up is easier and I don't care if my underwear is wrinkled
Hard disagree, cleaning the fridge is worse
Specifically fitted sheets
Can confirm.
you spelled "dusting" wrong
it helps if only one person in the family has the kenning o' the fitted sheets, and also VIEWS on that subject (and it's not you)

It's not great but it's better than mowing the lawn which suuuuuuuucks
The great thing about living alone is that there's no one to judge you if you just throw it in a big pile
not as bad as ironing it, dog.
I much prefer narrative-heavy RPGs to open world exploration games that don’t give you any direction, I get bored and lose motivation to keep going if I don’t have a story I care about
Sub fork - the reason I think, and even say, I like an RPG isn't always accurate. What works in one doesn't work in others. In short- Some games are just Good, and require no further analysis.
Like Disco Elysium, for example?
yeah-yeah, blah blah, just roll your initiative an' tell me what you got! (jeez) 🙄
Agreed on this. I can enjoy (and appreciate and do play some) open world but it’s the story and characters that keeps bringing me back to my favorite RPGs to replay over and over.
I like a mix, or at least when I don't feel like doing story stuff, I can just dick around on the side. It really depends on my mood at the time.
inventory and weight management sucks, I don’t want to spend hours trekking shit out of the dungeon, give me a magical backpack that can hold 473 suits of plate armor any day
No one has ever not had fun carrying an entire army’s worth of ordinance on their person and deploying it regularly.
You're cookin' on these 2 points! 🔥
You get a bag of holding, you get a bag of holding, you get a bag of holding...
Although BG3 does have its weight limits I find I hit them only rarely, and that's when I've been carrying around a massive caravan stronghold box from early in the game that I keep forgetting about. Just imagining all these fights while carrying a great big strongbox and 3 suits of plate mail.
I think weight limits are usually just straight-up bad and a sign of a deeper mechanical rot (why are you letting me pick up forty thousand coffee mugs in the first place). That said, RE4's inventory is perfect because it's an actual mechanic in and of itself.
ohh i got into a few games recently that have *infinite* backpack space and an auto-sort 💜
Tenser's Floating Disc for the win
No spoon in the kingdom is safe!
Put a salad or some other veg next to 'em and you got a healthy meal! I've been doing the morningstar farms fake nugs occasionally in the air fryer. Highly recommend!
Partner and I move furniture very well together. Walk ups, staircase turns, odd door angles, beefy wood. All of it. It’s my new criteria for ‘So you think they’re the one. Ok. Haul a sleeper up three flights then through a narrow door to finish.’
