As much as we may wish otherwise, these are just the entrances that they close for holidays. If something else were happening I would have heard the helicopters fly by.

Have you noticed the decline in traffic there? I'm only there about 3-4 times a month at rush hour. In the past it was 10 min to get from Cedar to Woodmont but now it's easy - breezy.

I find the traffic to be heavier than it was in early January because more people have to work in person. Though perhaps less traffic than pre-pandemic

Now there’s a subterranean pedestrian access that does not require crossing the road I think the traffic at those crossroads is much smoother

For foot traffic? Sure -- fewer folks from Walter Reed getting out at NIH and crossing the street. That could make a difference at certain times, perhaps.
