The only good thing about the Real ID is it allows you to bypass all the certificates when you apply for a passport. Which I am doing soon.

I just went through a full name change. Mine for other reasons that my passport didn't match my SSN or DL. It was a lot of work and cost nearly $1,000 (court, real ID, and public notice fees) plus lots of time. Ugh... I'm glad it's done though.
