reading it, i think part of it is just golden age is 12 thinking -- i heard a famous elt trainer once say a paper dictionary is best because you also learn the words around the one you are looking for. i'm not sure what ai means for translation/area studies but we do need to realize ..
knowing facts is not the only form of intelligence. relationships that are only transactional mediated through several privately owned technologies aren't really real, either.
I think my golden age of language study was probably around 24 or 25 XD
