I do not want my bank to be hip. I want my bank to be the most stodgy, boring, and traditionalist institution in my life. I want bankers who look like they were mummified in 1883 but still show up to work.

Apparently the kids aren't using regular Banks anymore if they're trying to talk the kids language. Never mind they're alienating their older clientele who have a shitload more money with them.
My credit union went from a normal credit union name to a random noun a decade ago, then recently rebranded to a much worse random noun. No bank should have a fire related name unless it is the Fire Fighters and First Responders Credit Union.
Did they rebrand or combine with another credit union? Mine almost went under, so they combined with a different one in my state
This one was a combo but they jointly chose a new stupider name
Is there another credit union you can join or is the stupider name their only bad choice?
My credit union did something similar. I joined D— fed credit union. Then it merged with bigger R— FCU and took its name. Ok. Then many credit unions merged with M Valley FCU and took *its* name. After most open credit unions in region merged, they collectively changed the name to a random noun.
Yikes. Still I believe credit unions are 100% better than commercial banks.
Of course! My credit union often annoys me but I don’t suspect them of taking unfair advantage of me.
I found a couple of 15 year old money orders that had somehow never been used. Took them into the main branch and was told it would take about six weeks for them to work their magic. Six weeks later a deposit in the amount of both checks appeared on my online statement. Never at a commercial bank
I recently joined a credit union. I didn’t realize that just anyone could join. I thought they were all connected to professions. Anyway, they pay me $10 a month to use my checking account.
There are credit unions that were connected to professions, or companies such as Boeing. A lot of those credit unions have relaxed their membership requirements, which allows more people to join. Glad you were able to join. They're so many magnitudes better than commercial banks.
So far it's their only bad choice. The merger is pretty good, actually.
Happiness. My credit union periodically has stupid ad campaigns but is otherwise flawless. So I just ignore the stupid.
