It should just be taxes. I'm not opposed to collecting money from businesses, Liz Warren has some decent ideas on that, but regardless of government grants or subsidies received, they should all be paying their share of taxes.

They probably figured equality before and under the law as well as the tax code might cover that. Then again, the wealth of the country was built on slavery and robber barons. Which you could simply call wholesale criminality.
