The new police guidelines are meant to be selective, ie they won't be releasing those details for ALL suspects. Obvious consequence: Only the type of crime reports which the RW press are guaranteed to foam at the mouth over will include a nationality/ethnicity component. Unbelievably sinister!
Why release suspects' ethnicity? Ethnicity does not mean that the suspect is not a British citizen. All this will do is incite more racism as we all know that the press doesn't put headlines up when the perpetrators are white.
