correct. Unfortunately they can barely sustain themselves because fundraising is impossible.
I taught both of my daughters how to use my antique 22 caliber rifle, and what it could do by the time they were 13. All curiosity was cured.
I’ve leaned how to properly handle a gun. I don’t like guns at all, but I fear them less. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for people to know how to handle themselves if the time comes to need one.

Taking a several weeks long hunters safety course in 2002 led by the most boring speakers I have ever encountered completely changed guns from an access point of power to a tool as interesting as a hammer for my adolescent self. I fully endorse this approach.

I spent almost a year working on transportation access at UHC but they didn’t want to pay for trips. When they finally realized I was right that there’s no available resources from nonprofits, they cut my job 🥴
As soon as I could sign him up, we had our son go through the local 4H gun safety course. Multiweek with training on rifle, pistol, and shotgun. He hasn't picked up a firearm since, but at least he has some memory of "this is an unsafe act to perform."
This exactly. One avenue in discussing abortion is artificial womb technology. But "pro life" folks outlawed that for humans in the 1960s. It's never about what they say it's about.

I'm a little weirded out that the NYT is saying this is an "Approach to fighting drug addiction" when it feels to me closer to the approach to fighting teen pregnancy. Except instead of preventing pregnancy it's preventing something that's on the whole the opposite of "Giving Life"
It shows the passion when you write and occasionally skip a word! Or it shows the failings of dictation- either way, we get you!
We lived in rural Wisconsin, many many hunting rifles in area homes, though not ours. I made my daughter take the hunter safety course for exactly this reason.
