Frankly it's unclear that any level of transphobia is required to win elections but we keep being told it is and to stay quiet and accept it. Just based on vibes I guess.

These people saw Harris following the law of her state five years prior as a bridge too far in support of trans people. Are they going to be winnable if you do some light fascism? I don't think so and none of these guys have managed to convince me.

Either we have enough power to influence the election or we don't. If we do then you can win us over by supporting basic human rights. If we don't then just do what you want, it doesn't matter either way except people feel like it's unfair they're being shit on.

Yeah I don’t think most voters are so incredibly transphobic that they wouldn’t vote for a candidate that wasn’t hell-bent on hating trans people. This cruelty is not even remotely necessary

I don't doubt that people FEEL afraid but I don't know why I should take their irrational fear based on right wing propaganda seriously. It's always a third party going, "Well I'm enlightened but will it play in Peoria".
