there are many, many situations in which multiple perspectives are legitimate. however the second that the phrase “gotta hear both sides” comes out of someone’s mouth i am going to assume bad faith

for the longest time i had only heard it deployed sarcastically ala desus—as a joke in situations where it was clear there was only one legit pov on a matter. then rogan and company started using it earnestly
