i’ve muted a lot of people because of this. i cannot do it. preparing for legitimate threats is one thing, i have cptsd and my cortisol cannot be maxed 24-7 because some awful dipshit said something on a site i don’t post on

i obviously can't speak to what's going on in the trans community but i can say from personal experience that whipping yourself up into a constant state of hypervigilant panic is not only pointless but also bad for your brain
i truly feel like some people on this website are trapped in a negative feedback loop of only engaging with the worst, most cortisol-spiking content on the internet. we don't have to live that way
there are a lot of legitimate reasons for us to be extremely on edge and our survival will depend on us being able to conserve our energy, i think
oh, for sure! there's legitimately terrible, scary stuff at the root of all this. people are unloading so much vitriol on the trans community right now, it's insane. which is why it's important to prioritize mental health. put on your own oxygen mask first, etc.
Yes, mute is a great tool. There are some trans people who seem to thrive on this type of posting. To each their own, etc etc, but I do not understand people who seem to be live-skeeting every awful thing that is, was, or might be.
ive had to block a bunch of blue wave / blue maga types off here who wont stop posting anti-trump memes under unrelated posts of mine. their brains are poisoned
oh yeah that stuff gets an immediate block
I’ve had to make sure that my posts are me talking to cis people that follow me for this exact reason. I don’t blame you!
