Putin is right if you talk about GDP PPP. The thing is that this not tells a lot of all aspects of your economy. In the list of countries worldwide Bangladesh is nr. 24 and Switzerland is nr. 39. A pretty useless list. You have to look at GDP or at GDP PPP per capita. Then Russia is not in the top.
