Exactly, you got that right! But it gets even better: That nuclear fusion plant cost nothing to build and run. The energy is delivered for free. Using 'next-gen' ;) fusion technology, it does not produce any waste and it has been running without incidents quite literally since the dawn of time!

Meh, I only give that thing 5-6 billion years before it fizzles out. It's not even big enough to collapse into a black hole (sad)

Fusion hype is nice, but fission is already proven and running 24/7 today. We don’t need to wait for miracles when nuclear already delivers clean baseload.

My point is precisely the opposite. Fission is a prime example of ineffeficient technology, that has proven to be a total failure (which was to be ecpected). Fusion is no hype but long-standing reality: We have had fusion energy before there was even life on this planet.

I don't see how fission has "proven to be a total failure"... Of course it has its problems, but it's still reliable and has a reduced ecological impact compared to, for example, coal and gas powerplants.

OK, ‘total’ failure is slightly exaggerated, as it does indeed provide electricity. But at what cost! And that cost is almost entirely not added to energy price, but overburdened to future generations. Don’t compare it to coal and gas, but to renewables (and potentially fusion).

In stark contrast to what we achieved here on earth, the sun has been running WITHOUT interruptions and any incidents and totally for free. It will continue to do so! Fission plants are neither economical nor ecological. Theri lifespan is a joke compared to that of their waste!
