doctors and engineers are actually the ones you want using it. Ai has actually been apart of the medical field for like a decade. its been a huge boon to stuff like cancer marker tracking. AI's ability to very quickly pull up niche info is a boon to practitioners.
Worst part of doctor stuff: LLM powered voice-recognition form letters. Ours have a "if this seems weird, please contact the department" coda.
ive heard some hate it, others loving it. it seems like a very useful use of AI as long as doctors arent just assuming its right and still check it over. any time saved in stuff like that seems important.

not all AI is LLM's and not all uses of LLM's is bad. Its just particularly heinously bad in general use (as shown by the cognitive decline slide) and in computer sicence use, since it cant compute multiple ideas.
Learning to do research on your own and knowing where to search for an information is probably the most critical skill one can attain, both in medicine and engineering and using LLMs for that is going to handicap you long term. Sometimes you just gotta eat your (metaphorical) veggies

The way Business Idiots have creamed themselves of "AI" is truly sickening. The few good uses for the technology (eg:protein folding) are completely buried under the deranged amount of money, energy, and resources they've wasted chasing a dumbass pipe dream. I cannot wait for this bubble to burst.
correct, the only part of my pro gen AI is the type of AI being used to help transcribe for general practicitioners basically shortcutting paperwork (they generally still go over the notes created by the program) its basically hyper advanced search engines and Speach to Text.
