to be fair he was getting millions to solve a problem in a country and people irl were telling him he would 100% be able to do it for sure!" then social media flipped on him when as it turns out the world is not that simple (also he was more of a like lobbying group rather then a directly save kids)

Not everyone was saying he could do it. The people he was trying to help, their government basically criticized him as they were handling it, and they did. Similarly his sincerity was also undercut by a couple of lies about his life and story.

You're basically bang on though with what I remember. He was obsessive towards saving Africa or whatever but he did grandiose promises while undermining himself which fed into his collapse. I think he's fine now, as of a YouTube documentary I watched like 2 years ago and he's staying out of public
