Thinking more about this album as Hayley's coming out album. The cover to Hayley's 3rd solo album is interesting in a number of ways. The box that's drawn around her face noticably leaves out a large ring that's on the left hand but also on the ring finger. It's just outside the frame.
This is an obvious depiction of the lyrics in Parachute where she says "you were at my wedding". I think this album was sparked from a conversation on that plane from Rio. All the photos are in black and white with hand drawn images giving meaning after the fact, on reflection. Looking at the dark
To bring light. I think this album is largely about the summer of 2015; the summer a "piano fell right on top of me." I think the box is her honest queer desires that she hid even as she was getting married. Her longing for the curly haired girl, her longest music friend, and sudden queer desires.
