I completely agree with you, but it would have to adjusted on an annual or every 2-3 years basis because passing it that way in our current political environment would be unpopular even for most Pelosi democrats.

One way to make raising wages less urgent would be to incentivize increasing housing & lowering rents. Tax penalties for anyone owning more than 4 homes. Make it illegal for private equity groups to own residential housing unless they 1) build/finance building & 2) offer % of low income options.

Why complicate/dilute simple, single once & done legislative solution? Automatically scaling & indexing min. wage assures workers always earn more than enough to subsist, flattens income/wealth curve, gougers net nothing, & obviates every proposal allowing top1% to further exploit & oppress workers.

Are you going to trust the inflation data coming out of this current administration? For starters.

For every second min. wage is fixed $/hr, top0.1% steal wages & worsen income/wealth curve. Min Wage has to adjust at least daily & adjust according to local COLs. In '25, we have the tech. W/in 5yrs, all CA will be >$21/hr. In '30, >40% below subsistence = at $21/hr workers lose >40%/yr to top1%.
