From earlier this week, at a new doc/pain specialist: Doc: “And when did this pain begin?” Me: “This one? Maybe 15-20 years ago?”

"about 1992"
And then the game really begins: "No, you're not allowed to talk about that, ONLY the thing your GP referred you for six months ago." "OK, what did my GP refer me for?" "Headaches." "What?? I wasn't having headaches then." "YOU CAN ONLY TALK ABOUT HEADACHES!"
Yes! I also dislike that game very much. 💜
And they always, always give you the look. Like you should have fixed it. 😂
"Why didn't you see a doctor earlier?" "I did, y'all don't believe me." "Oh." 😂
Or they tell you it's normal for your condition and send you away
Or how about once you hit 40 the rhetoric begins from docs about all symptoms being typical for “women of a certain age” and not to worry, your labs are normal.
Mhm. I'm almost that age and had to fight, literally argue, with my dr to refer me to gynecology because my periods are horrific. He was like "it's just your weight and pcos it's normal" Turns out I have an endometrial polyp causing my periods so bad i'm throwing up in pain and cant walk
That doctor is fired. I’m glad you got the care you need now at least-
"I saw several." "Oh." Always the same. 😮💨
Love it haha
And I wish I were joking! The fun part- they can’t order an MRI until after fecet injections and 6 weeks of physical therapy. MRI from 5 years ago showed herniated and ruptured discs, but doesn’t matter. We start again from the beginning, my friends.
Ugh
Yup, I've had that conversation with multiple doctors!
