Were they checking the Connect 1 specifically? I’m not sure how a casual rider would be able to tell who did or did not pay, considering it’s down at the station, not as people board

They did the 12, 33 and Connect 1. I honestly think they just counted the people that walked in (which is dumb because we have fare validators) and considered them fare evaders. Apparently some people are just scanning their fare on the bus now? Definitely feels less like a BRT route now
I mean MCTS is planning to ditch off board fare payment soon but I haven’t seen anything that explicitly says that you have to start paying your fare on the bus now. Is this just bad reporting on FOX 6’s part? (probably)
In the news story the reporter complains that the bus driver didn’t let them scan their fare on the bus and then the reporter complained the operator was “impatient”. Definitely looking like the they’re just trying to make MCTS look bad at that point.
That’s usually how Fox 6 writes their stories, lol.
Yeah, it’s so unfortunate basically all news stations here make transit look bad but it is a countrywide issue though. Idk why they always try to make the operator look bad for no reason 😭😭 it’s totally worth the views am i right
