I can get onboard with C.D., but it’s gone way too far to hype up George Pickens as a top-20 WR.

- Efficient receiver 2.00+ YPRR the last two seasons - 23% targets per route run last season - strong yards per target numbers with at least 9.0+ in all three seasons Traded to what is likely to be a very condensed offense with Lamb/Pickens/Ferguson with not much target-earning behind those three
And watch all those route-run metrics go to shit when he’s competing with a bonafide alpha.
That's not how it works, though.. Hill/Waddle Chase/Higgins AJ Brown/Smith Jefferson/Addison All duos that have lifted up the second receiver Lamb at Z & Pickens as the contested-catch, downfield X is a perfect combo and both will earn a ton of targets, potentially 40-45% of Cowboys' targets
Yeah, it’s a possible outcome, but it’s highly unlikely. Especially, since Pickens is a catch n’ fall boundary receiver who requires a high number of targets and still has never scored more than 5 TDs in a season.
He's never been a zero with YAC (more last season than Courtland Sutton/Jordan Addison) and was WR13 in 2023 with YAC (409), so I don't know if he's catch and fall. Going to Dallas, he'll have a massive increase in team pass att. from Pittsburgh & TDs aren't sticky, but he COULD spike there.
It's a bet on efficiency receiver that's great in per-target metrics now getting less attention paid to him because he's working alongside an alpha in an offense that will see close to 600 team pass attempts. Efficiency + opportunity is the baseline for any breakout WR
It’s possible, I can agree to that.
Not far enough 😤
