Never said I don't care. I don't respond well to negativity. The initial interaction was acerbic sarcasm. At no point were facts introduced. What am I to do?
You did say that. You said it didn't interest you. Those were your exact words.
Did I? My bad. What are the details of this thing? Is this something you can accomplish without being condescending?
You did. Go back and read where our conversation began in earnest. When you come back to respond to this, I need you to ask yourself if you think people aren't entitled to some degree of hostility toward someone who really did tell them "I don't know what we're talking about and I don't care"
Now think about how that hostility might be further agitated by that statement being immediately followed up with "and now you squandered your chance to get me to care because you weren't nice to me." It's an INCREDIBLY off-putting first impression.
We should do this forever. I didn't properly receive your hostility so it's my fault that you continue your initial hostility because I didn't try hard enough to make you not mad at me? Now you go
My issue with you has been very explicit from the beginning. I believe navel-gazing is shitty behavior. Maybe you don't know this, but people can tell if you don't know and/or care about a thing you're talking about without being told you neither know nor care. I was hostile towards bad behavior.
Didn't you start this with mockery? I mean I'll do my best
You were- by your own admission!!!- navel-gazing. You chimed in out of nowhere to pontificate about a thing you neither knew nor cared about. That is conduct that warrants mockery, in my opinion. And in yours too, I bet, when not clouded by your other opinion that being mocked feels bad.
The fact was to approach with skepticism rather than assuming as you were suggesting that its entirely false because some content creator may have said so.
Or to run defense for normalizing what looks just like bribary.
The defense, if any, was against personal attacks. There was a remarkable amount of assumptions about what my position is regarding something which has yet to be properly defined. What am I supposed to google? "That shit that's making someone on the internet be angry at me?"
You're supposed to Google "the Taylor Lorenz Wired piece that outed lib influencers as paid shills" because that was the subject of the OP
That might give me a decent chance at understanding what the author thinks. I thought I was talking to you
No, reading the article would be giving you the tools to understand my first response to you. The one where I tell you very clearly what I think because I'm literally making a prescriptive claim.
