It wasn’t horrible, but it’s not been fabulous. I certainly didn’t miss last year’s stretch of “feels like 40”, but I sure would’ve appreciated a bit more sunshine and warm temps.

If it stayed in the low 20's and rained occasionally (while being warm) I'd be overjoyed but Calgary has been depressing this summer. See: The Calgary Folk Fest.
OMG folk fest was awful. We did one night, got absolutely soaked to the bone. Then the shivers set in and that was it. I was done done done.
You only lasted one night? We came over prepared this year so we managed but holy shit, I was over the crap weather by the time Sunday morning rolled around. Altho, Sun night with Cake on stage did end up being a lot of fun tho.
And the island was WRECKED by mid Sunday.
Saturday night was abject hell. We got caught in that torrential downpour that delayed all the performances for the evening. And lemme tell ya - trying to wring out and dry your shit in a hotel room is less than ideal. Our little wagon was a water tank by the time we got back to the Sheraton 😂
Saturday was the first time we didn’t close down the island in a very long time but we were friggin’ done by then, listened to some of Steve Earle’s set live on CKUA. Regardless, I probably spent a good 40+ hours there over 4 days all told. Canmore Folk Fest was a trip too.
Kid and I went back to the hotel after Los Lobos, left Mr on his own for Steve Earle. 15 minutes after we got back to the hotel, Mr is at the room door looking like a drowned rat. He gave up on sticking it out 😂
Yes, there’s only so much one can endure, it took “suffering for your art” to a whole different level.🥶🥶🥶
