An observation, not criticism, but a “proud conservative” would presumably have refused that help from the government in the first place. Empathy means to understand & share the feelings of others. I understand but do not share, so no to empathy. No sympathy for her, either. For her child, though.

I honestly feel bad for and her son. This shouldn’t even be a possible scenario. MAGA is making a choice to do this. But wtf. How can conservatives be so blinded as to believe their representatives don’t want to cancel all of the social benefits, unless they benefit billionaires?
